Sorry to hear your news. Can’t beat a single malt whiskey and a chat.

I enjoyed the chat more than the whiskey! :-(

Dear Richard,

I am very sorry for your loss. I am glad you have wonderful memories.

Now I will read Dan’s books.

Sad news. My condolences. I just re-read Hyperion a couple months ago. Still one of the greatest works among great works.

Thanks, Owen. What a thrill to live long enough to see your novel become a classic!

Thanks for sharing this loving memorial, Richard. I remember some correspondence during the Dove years about publishing an audiobook of one of his novels. The project didn't go through, I think because of potential conflict with a film deal, but Dan and I kept up steady social media contact for years afterwards. Amazing writer, and a fine man.

Any author would be proud to have those six words chiseled on their tombstone.

Richard, I never would have found your wonderful writing had I not inquired to the rights of Carrion Comfort. RIP to a titan of literary imagination and style.

Yes, I still dream about it.

Sorry to hear that. I may always remember a scene in Phases of Gravity that was hilariously brilliant.
